New Discovery E.L has released the official video for his song, Kaalu.
SEP 29, 2012 LISTEN

The video, directed by Pascal Aka, opens with the phrase,” You are about to go Live”, and then proceeds to a scene with racing cars and a creative way of showing the name of the video on a passing van. Within the first 16 seconds, product placement is quite evident, with the tight screen shot of the Pepsi can , the cover of Dust Magazine, and the CD player which is playing E.L's new CD, entitled Something ELse.

The video starts off with a group of people enjoying a classy dinner while listening to the instrumental of Gene Kelly's “Singing in the Rain”. EL arrives at the dinner and is greeted by a security guard who informs him that no Azonto is allowed, and there is a sign on the door to reinforce his statement. However, when E.L gifts the guard with his latest CD, the guard gladly lets EL and his band through the doors.

Upon entering the room, EL and his band move to the front of the room and take over. At this point, the “Kaalu” song starts and various elements are introduced into the video.

First, there are a group of Chinese men. The Chinese guys have their own swag and they are interwoven throughout the video, with Chinese script.

Secondly, there are the African women dressed in kimonos, doing their own Azonto type dancing. The women dressed in kimonos are in a dance-off with a group of guys who also have their own style of Azonto. The video introduces choreographed dancing which adds flair to the video.Lastly, there are scenes where E.L is standing in front of a black and blue wall with various Ghanaian artists, including Edem.

The video seems to be a video intended to make people dance while showcasing the Azonto. In case anyone has any doubts about whether or not the Azonto is dead, E.L clearly defends his position by ending the video with the statement, ”Azonto is NOT dead”. The Kaalu video provides a lot of stimulation for the viewers, and reassures everyone that the Azonto has not died…yet.
