KP Boateng Helps Besiktas Defeat Ankaragücü 2-1 On His Birthday

German-born Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng excelled on his birthday on Friday night while in action for Besiktas as he helped the side post a 2-1 win over Ankaragücü.

The forward who turned 33 on March 6, 2020, was called into action to help his club fight for 3 points against the team’s Match Week 25 opponent in the Turkish Super Lig.

A good display from the attacker who is on loan from Fiorentina complemented the efforts of his teammates to inspire Besiktas to an important win at the Vodafone Arena.

Burak Yilmaz opened the scoring for the home team on the 6^th minute of the first half before Adem Ljajic added a second on the 88^th minute. Though Ilhan Parlak netted a consolation in added time for Ankaragücü, it was not enough to save them from defeat at the end of the match.

In a Tweet after the match, birthday boy KP Boateng expressed his delight while describing the win as the best birthday gift he could have received.

The former Sassuolo man continues to shine at Besiktas and is expected to sign a 2-year contract at the end of his loan spell.
