Bukom made sure they did not let any opportunity go lose when they remained resolute and tight in pulling to win the 2019 / 2020 Tug of War sporting event organized by Dreamland Sports Plus to entertain the chiefs and people of Accra.
The programme which was sponsored by the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah attracted eight teams from Bukom, Ngleshie Alata, Sempe, Asere, Abola, Akanmadzen, Otublohum and Gbese.
After a week’s rest, the semi-finals and finals came off on Sunday, January 5, 2020, and Bukom dominated by pulling Abola and made mincemeat of Akanmadzen in the final to receive cash prize of 1000ghc and sponsors products.
The runners up took home 500ghc and sponsors products, while Abola the third placers got sponsors products.
Hon. Adjei Sowah congratulated the participants and urged them to love the sports as coaches would be trained to mould them into international stars.
He said activities like the Coastal Challenge promote peace, unity, community development.
Present at the event were Nii Adote Otintoh, Sempe Manste, Nii Abola Manste, Asafoaste Mankatta, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, director of coastal development, Hon. MP for Okaikoi and Nii Lante Bannerman, aspiring MP for Odododiodoo Constituency.
