The Vice Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Circles Council of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mr. Edmound Ackah has accused the present management of the club of attempts to sabotage a lined-up programme by the council in Accra.

According to him the council planned a programme to raise funds for the needy in society in the nation's capital. The programme included a friendly match between Kotoko and Dansoman-based Liberty Professional, which the management had appropriatly been informed.

Mr.Ackah in an interview with AUTHENTIC KAPITAL SPORTS on Kapial Radio in Kumasi said after the Council had invested over one hundred Milion cedis in the programme only for the management to councelle the programme."We planned the programme with the knowledge of the management, they knew of the plans to play a friendly with Liberty Professional so for the management to write to us at the eleventh hour to explain that the match cannot be played in tantamount to sabotage"

"Before the game the Accra Representatives of Kwame Amoa-Bosompem and his assistant Opoku Agyeman had expressed interest in some per centages from the game but because they were surely going to be denied the request, they reportedly remarked that the game will not be honoured" he said.

He continued," The council has had enough problems with the Accra Representatives of the club and we therefore call for the immediate removal of them, this is our stand and we will not revert in our stance",Let me tell you that the management has written to appologise for their actions but one thing is clear that the Council cannot work with the so-called Accra representatives". He stressed.

Mr. Ackah said the members of the Council are s! heduled to hold a meeting with the management in Kumasi over the Weekend and their position will be made clearer.

"The management will have to chose between the two Accra Representative and the Greater Accra Regional Circles Council", he fumed.

In a qick response the Public Affairs Office of the club, Mr.Jarvis Peprah has pushed aside the comments of Mr.Edmound Ackah explaining that the management has not sabotaged anybody and the decision not to play the match between Liberty and Kotoko as part of the programme were genuine. He said the reasons why the game could not be played was because the coach had sent the team on break at the time the match was sheduled to be played. Mr. Peprah brushed aside the call for the removal of the Accra Representatives adding that "nobody can tell the Management who should be at what post at what time".
