Frederick Boateng Is Struggling Mentally - C.K Akunnor Reveals

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, C.K Akunnor has revealed that Frederick Boateng is struggling mentally.

The 25-year-old striker has been struggling to win the supporters of the club due to his lack of goal scoring heroics.

"Frederick Boateng is struggling mentally and it is very bad for the team," Akunnor told Asempa FM.

The supporters of the club has lashed out the striker but the former Ashgold gaffer has called on the supporters of the club to support the forward.

"It's clear the supporters don't like him and that affects him a lot but they should understand that he is there for a reason.

"There is no way he [Frederick Boateng] will start if Sogne Yacouba is fit but I urge the supporters should be patient with him.

"I also entreat him to be there mentally and spiritually as well.

"Frederick Boateng isn't called "Obinim" so the fans should stop calling him that," he added.

Frederick Boateng is popularly recognized after renowned Ghanaian prophet Daniel Obinim prophesied to him that he will emerge as the top scorer for the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season.
