FIFA President Applauds Aduana Stars FC For GPL Triumph

World football governing body president, Gianni Infantino has heaped praises on Aduana Stars FC for winning the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League.

After the Dormaa based won the premier league for the first time in the history of the club under the auspices of the late Herbert Addo in 2010, the Fire Boys have again won the premier league in a grand style under the auspices of former Techiman City gaffer, Yusif Abubakar with 57 points with a match to end the season.

In a letter addressed to the Ghana Football Association president [Kwesi Nyantakyi], Infantino wrote that “It gives me great pleasure to send my warmest congratulations to Aduana Stars FC for their second championship title!”

In applauding the fighting spirit of the team, he said, “This title is the result of the determination of everyone involved and my congratulations go to the players, the coach, the administration, the entire technical and medical staff as well as the fans for this great achievement.”

“On behalf of the entire football community, I would like to thank Aduana Stars FC and your association for helping to spread the positive message of football.” he further added.

Albert Commey who is the Chief Executive Officer of the club, in responding to the letter said, “We thank Mr Infantino for congratulating us on our title triumph. This shows that work pays and really means a lot to our players and the entire team. We will work harder each day to achieve more in our future football competitions,”

Aduana Stars will represent the country in the 2017/18 CAF Champion League.
