Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has called on Ghanaians to exercise patience with the Black Starlets ahead of their round of 16 clash with Niger in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Ahead of the round of 16 clash with their Africa neighbours, the Black Starlets won two matches topping their group with six points.

Their round of 16 clash against Niger that will be staged at the DR. DY Patel Stadium in Navi Mumbai will be a repeat of the semifinal match between the two sides at the African Cup of Nations in Gabon earlier this year, where Ghana triumphed in the penalty shoot-outs before eventually losing 1-0 to Mali in the grand final.

But the vociferous football administrator who is the bankroller for Tema Youth FC urged Ghanaian football fandom to be patient with the team ahead of the round of 16 clash.

"Ghanaians should have patience and the Starlets will let them enjoy the game today. We are always slow starters in tournaments and this is evident in the ongoing tournament, but trust me the boys will deliver to the delight of everyone today," Palmer told Accra based Happy FM.

"Against Niger, many will feel it's a done deal but Ghana will only win when we play as a team," he added.

The much-anticipated clash will kick-off at 11:30GMT.
