Former South Sudan FA President Chabur Goc arrived in Ethiopia hoping to be cleared by ethics committee ahead of Fifa council elections on Thursday in Addis Ababa.

Last week Caf clarified in a letter that despite South Sudan FA revoking his candidacy they were time barred and he was still in the race.

"I am optimistic Fifa ethics committee will clear me in time for the elections on Thursday since I never withdrew my candidacy as earlier reported."

"I believe everything happens for a reason and if cleared I will be a Fifa council member since I put up my candidature before South Sudan elections back at home," Chabur told supersport.com in Addis Ababa.

Mr. Adelmo Wani Agustino was elected the new president of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) on an interim basis - taking over from Mr. Chabur Goc Alei whose term in office expired.

Adelmo, Juba Local Football Association boss was elected during SSFA's Extraordinary General Assembly, which started Saturday 5th and concluded today, Monday 6th in Juba.

Yei Local Football Association chairman John James Wani was elected Vice President of the SSFA, while John Anthony retained his position as the Secretary General.

In case Chabur is cleared he will join the Fifa council directly since they will be only two candidates Almany Kabele and himself.
