The management of TV3 last Tuesday declared their intention to assist the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) in their fund-raising campaign to support Ghana's contingent for the Athens Olympic Games slated for August 13 to 30.
That will be in the form of a sensitisation programme on the TV3 network which will ensure that every Ghanaian contributes at least ¢1,000 to support the effort of the GOC.
This was disclosed at the launch of a sponsorship package to telecast the 2004 Olympic Games live on the TV3 network courtesy Canal France International (CFI).
According to the Assistant Managing Director of Production, Mr Ralph Sase, his outfit has an agreement with the CFI to enable them to telecast live Africa sports programmes.
"We had that contract since 2001 under which we telecast live the UEFA Champions League and other Africa football matches to update our numerous sports followers in Ghana,” he said.
The president of the GOC, Mr B.T. Baba, thanked the TV3 management for the gesture and urged other media houses to contribute their widow's mite to promote a worthy cause.
