Koman Coulibaly of Mali will referee Sunday's African Nations Cup final between holders Egypt and Ghana in Luanda.

The 39-year-old, officiating at his fourth Nations Cup tournament and on the shortlist for the World Cup in June, has been involved in controversy in the past.

Coulibaly awarded Cameroon a disputed stoppage-time penalty in their final 2006 World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Yaounde that, had they converted, would have taken them through to the finals. The kick was missed.

There is also an existing page, set up by angry Tunisian fans, on the social networking site Facebook that calls for the referee's removal from the panel of world soccer's ruling body FIFA following his displays in matches involving their team.

Coulibaly will be assisted by Evarist Menkouande of Cameroon and Morocco's Achik Redouane on Sunday.
