Ghana In Britain For Junior Rugby Tourney

A contingent of nine young rugby players left Accra last Sunday to represent Ghana at the week-long Under-13 Tullow Oil Touraid Cup in Britain.

The continegent, accompanied by Ghana Rugby Association chairperson and leader of delegation, Gifty Annan-Myers, and Coach Saad Amuzuloh, will join more than 10 others in the tournament that Ghana is participating in for the first time.

Joseph Asamoah, Solomon Akumba, Marvin Asiedu, Emmanuel Mensah, Stephen Mireku, Clement Vifa, Isaac Asare, Maxwell Asiamah and Razak Mpia are the youngsters who will fly the Ghana flag in the tournament.

Countries participating in the tournament are India, Cote d'Ivoire, Namibia, Pakistan, Madagascar, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Trinidad and Tobago.

Ghana will play in Group A alongside India, Cote d'Ivoire, Namibia and Pakistan, while the others form Group B.

The tournament is expected to start on Thursday with the group matches and end on Saturday with the final.
