John Mahamah`s wife donates to B/A United

The wife of Hon. John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mrs. Lordina Mahama has donated assaulted food items worth GH¢1,000 to B/A United Football Club to support their Middle League campaign which kicked off last Wednesday.

The items donated by Mrs.Mahama, a native of Ampoma in the Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo included bags of rice, energy drinks, gallons of cooking oil and boxes of Voltic Mineral Water.

Mrs. Mahama also donated a cash amount of GH¢1,000 to the Management of B/A United to be used in their day to day activities to ensure that the Club qualifies for the premiership next season.

The Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Randy Abbey received the items and the cash on behalf of the Management of B/A United, and commended Mrs. Mahama for the gesture.

Presenting the items, Mrs. Mahama disclosed that the donation was to help encourage the Club to fight extra hard to secure qualification to join Berekum Arsenals in the Nation's Premier league as well as to uplift the image of the region in sports.

She noted that sports and for that matter soccer was an instrument to promote unity and peace among the youth and the citizenry in general, therefore as a native of the region she considered it prudent to support the development of sports to subsequently ensure peace and unity.

She advised the youth to desist from acts that would lead to violence particularly in this electioneering period.

The Chief Executive Officer of B/A United FC, Charles Kwadwo Ntim a.k.a Micky Charles receiving the items thanked Mrs. Mahama for the support given to the Club and assured that the items and the money would be used for the intended purposes. Micky Charles called on other philanthropists as well as supporters of the Club to emulate Mrs Mahama's example to help promote peace and unity through sports.

According to the CEO, the team was adequately prepared technically to excel at the middle league stage to quench the thirst of soccer fans in the region who have for long yearn to see their idol club back in the premiership next season.
