Daber Lion Stoppers emerged champions in May Day gala

Elmina May 3, GNA - Daber Lion Stoppers last Thursday beat Simbew New Castle 1-0 to lift the Nana Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister's Cup in a special soccer Gala match organized to mark the May Day celebrations at Elmina.

Kakum Rural and Ankogan Phones sponsored the Gala.

In all, 10 football clubs in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency participated in the Gala match.

Lion Stoppers who emerged winners, took home GH¢ 100, a cup and a set of jersey, whilst the runners-up, Simbew New Castle received GH¢100 and a football. The third place went to Abreshia Nsemka taking home GH¢ 100 with all the other participating clubs receiving GH¢70 each.

Nana Arthur commended the players and supporters of the clubs for their sportsmanship and asked them to keep it up.

Mr George Frank Asmah, The District Chief Executive for KEEA and Nana Kodwo Condua VI, Omanhene of Edina Traditional Area were among the spectators.
