Newly promoted premiership side, Wa All Stars look set to make a good impression when the elite season kicks off in August with the arrival of a foreign manager.

Aside looking out for quality and experienced players, the Upper-West based club has contracted Turkish coach Mehmet Tayfun Turkmen to ensure the club's success in their maiden premiership campaign after 16 years of waiting to play in the topflight league.

The 45 year-old Turkish coach was met on arrival from Istanbul on Tuesday by officials of the club.

Mehmet Tayfun, who would be arriving in Wa on Wednesday to begin pre-season training with the team has penned a two-year deal with the club starting his first six months on probation.

“I am happy to be here and I hope to work well and enjoy my stay,” the Turkish coach told ghanaleague.com on his way out of the airport.

The coach has had stints with a host of Turkish clubs notably, Antalyaspor and Genclerbirligi.

Mehmet Tayfun would be assisted by Nuhu Mohammed.

Mehmet Tayfun would be the second Turk to work with a local side after Telat Uzum's short spell with Asante Kotoko last year.
