Accra Hearts of Oak have inched much closer to the 2007 league title even though the season has two games to go.

The league title appears to be heading to Accra barring any point deductions as the FA deals with a host of pending cases before the Disciplinary Committee.

Accra Hearts of Oak secured a 2-0 win at home over Heart of Lions and now await the result of third place, AshantiGold's game away to Bofoakwa Tano on Sunday.

A win for AshantiGold will keep the race still open since Hearts of Oak will need just a point to seal the championship while defeat to the Miners means the trophy goes to the Phobians.

The Phobians' closest contenders, Asante Kotoko faltered at the Coronation park losing 2-1 to Sekondi Hasaacas.

Stanley Afedzie started the job for the Phobians when he scored from a spot kick that Heart of Lions goalkeeper Stephen Ahorlu had no answer to in the 8th minute of the first half.

Ekow Ghansah crowned a beautiful day when with just a minute and a half to end the game when he finished off a pass from Afedzie after Amankwah Mireku had started the move on the right.
