Goalkeeper David Akologo has made a decision to switch allegiance from the Bolivian national team to represent Ghana, the local media have reported.

The Club Deportivo Aurora goalkeeper has secured a spot in Ghana's 26-man squad for upcoming friendly matches against Uganda and Nigeria later this month.

Although the 27-year-old had received a call-up to the Bolivia national team for the FIFA series tournament, he has opted to join the Black Stars instead.

Akologo, currently part of Bolivia's squad training in Brazil and scheduled to travel to Algeria for matches, has reportedly communicated his desire to play for Ghana to the Bolivia Football Association.

Having showcased his skills in Bolivian football since 2020, the former Mighty Jet player, originally from Accra, is set to join Ghana's camp in preparation for friendly encounters against Nigeria on March 22 and Uganda shortly after, all set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco.
