Great Olympics had to dig deep on Monday evening to come from behind to defeat Nsoatreman Football Club 2-1 in the Ghana Premier League.
The capital-based club hosted the Week 9 opponent of the 2023/24 Ghanaian top-flight league season at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In a game that suffered a setback due to power issues at the Stadium, the visitors left the game without a single point despite scoring first.
Nsoatreman FC on the back of their impressive start to the new league season scored through Mohammed Abdul Rahman in the 15th minute to take a deserved lead into the first half.
After recess, the team could not defend the lead as Great Olympics crawled back into the game.
Thanks to a sensation break from Emmanuel Antwi, Olympics cruised to a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win at the end of the 90 minutes.
The three points have pushed Great Olympics to third on the Ghana Premier League standings with Nsoatreman FC staying in second at the end of Week 9.
