Glamour and passion will glow as the 2006 Glo-CAF Awards Night descends on Ghana on Thursday, March 1. Bode Opeseitan, Head of Public Relations and Outdoor Advertising of Globacom Limited, sponsors of the annual says the event that comes to Ghana for the first time, will leave a lasting impression to be forever held dear.

Globacom, a leading communications company in Nigeria has initiated plans to ensure the ceremony abounds in flavour, class and style.

He told the media on Wednesday that Michael Essien, Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o Fils, nominees of the topmost award 'Player of the Year' will be flown to Ghana in their quest to depart from the previous occurrence where nominees were absent from the event.

Opeseitan said two private jets have been put at the disposal of the trio and the other nominees in a pursuit to continuously improve and add style to the event regarded as Africa's finest and biggest in the area of football.

He said it is in the pursuant to their promise to take African football to new heights and create the platform to reward excellent performance and contribute to the globular leather that a group of fine artistes have been lined up to thrill guests at the ceremony billed for the Accra International Conference Centre.

Opeseitan mentioned Ghana's Samini Batman, Nigeria's Lagbaja, famous South African Star, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Petit Megelito of Republic of Benin and the Grammy Award Winners, Soweto Gospel Choir as the main artistes for the night.

Celebrated Soccer stars like Roger Milla, Thomas Nkono, Kalusha Bwalya, Mohamoud El-Khateeb, Hossam Hassan, Laurent Pokou, Segun Odebgemi, Stephen Keshi, Marcel Dessaily, Augustine Eguavoen, Abedi Pele and Anthony Yeboah are all expected to grace the occasion.
