The 2023 Tour du Ghana was the 3rd edition of cycling race organized by 3FM under Media General as the race started from the Accra West Hills Mall to Cape Coast in the Central Region on Saturday, May 20, 2023 with 145 amateur and professional athletes; 140 being males and 5 females.

It was a 145.5km race and also the first of its kind in the Central Region. Phil Ayesu won the youngest at 16 and Annan Adams winning the oldest at the of age 57. Joan Okoro Patrick won the lady’s race at age 28 with all three athletes going home with a thousand Ghana Cedis each (GH¢1000.00).

Richard Attah won the semi para cycling and went home with One Thousand Ghana Cedis. Freeman Kporha emerged the winner of the 2023 Tour du Ghana 3rd edition Cycling Race with an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis alongside some souvenirs.

Frank Akuffo who won the maiden edition of Aboakyir Cycling Race came in second place with a cash prize of Seven Thousand Ghana Cedis accompanied with some souvenirs and the third place went to Emmanuel Shammah Mensah with an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis plus souvenirs. Besides, the maiden edition of the 3FM Tour Du Ghana which was held back in April 24, 2021 saw Alexander Allotey emerge the winner. Anthony Boakye was the winner for the second edition which took place last year April 30, 2022.

Speaking to the general public, Mr. Shaaban Mohammed who is the General Secretary of Ghana Cycling Federation urged the cyclists and the public to take advantage of this because, it is also in a form of exercise as well as cutting down the rate of unemployment in the society. He again advised the professional cyclists to continue to train hard for future call up to the national team the Black Cyclists especially with the upcoming World Cycling Championship Games in Glasgow, Scotland, which is slated for 3rd to 13th of August 2023. Mr. Shaaban thanked the general public for their support as well as the organizers 3FM.
