Black Stars legend, Asamoah Gyan has given his view of Ghana’s performance at the 2022 CAF Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament.

According to him, the Black Galaxies had a very poor start to the tournament and it’s unfortunate the national team made up of home-based players bowed out at the quarter-final stage.

Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan has revealed that he has been surprised by the performance of Madagascar and Angola at the CHAN tournament.

“Good! My native Ghana started the competition rather badly but they recovered well against Sudan in their second game. They reached the quarterfinals,” Asamoah Gyan said in an interview.

The Black Stars great added, “I was pleasantly surprised by Madagascar and Angola. Algeria have been incredible. You can feel that they want to win the tournament at home. The level of this competition is very high and we have seen many surprises.”

Asamoah Gyan is one of a number of African stars in Algeria for the 2022 CHAN tournament.

He is expected to be in the stands on Saturday when Algeria takes on Senegal in the finals of the tournament.
