King Faisal put up a strong performance on Sunday afternoon to see off Accra Lions with a deserved 2-1 win.
The two teams clashed at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today in a matchday 8 encounter of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Building on the momentum from the last two consecutive wins in the league, King Faisal had a strong start to the game and came close to scoring on a number of occasions in the first 30 minutes.
Having continued to pile pressure on the visitors, King Faisal finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minute when Samuel Adom Antwi equalised with a fine effort.
With that goal sending the hosts into the break with a narrow lead, the team doubled their lead three minutes into the second half.
In-form experienced striker Abednego Tetteh got his name on the score sheet to make it 2-0 for his team.
Despite a good display from Accra Lions, the team only netted a consolation goal through Frederick Asante in the 72nd minute.
King Faisal managed to hold on to record a 2-1 win and are now on an impressive three-game winning streak.
