W/R Tae-kwon-do team selected

Takoradi, Aug. 1, GNA - The Western Regional Tae-kwon-do Practitioners Association have held an inter-club competition during which 29 players were selected to form the regional team. Those selected for the various divisions are: finweight - Henry Mason, Samuel Stephens and Emmanuel Gamor and for the Flyweight are- - Denis Quaye, Franklin Gabari, Francis Biney, Patrick Andoh.

Those in the Bantamweight division are Martin Huzey, Samuel Donkor, Martin Oppan and Frank Owusu while for the featherweight we have Elohim Eghan, Kwaku Antwi, Kwame Ocantah, Solomon Nasser, lightweight - Fatao Alhassan, Raphael Klu and Kwasi Hamenoo.

In the heavyweight division are Ernest Twereboah, Patrick Ampem, Sannie Alhassan and Alex Koomson.

In the children division we have Kwame Takyi, Nana Assan, Daniel Huzey, Maxwell Asomani, Victor Ahinasi, Jude Kwaw and Brine Dekyem. According to the Acting Chairman of the Tae-kwon-do Technical Committee, Mr Richard Quarshie, the event was the first of its kind to be organised in the region.

He commended the Effia-Kuma Tae-kwon-do Club, the host of the tournament, for organising the competition very efficiently and urged other regions to emulate the western Region. Meanwhile the eight Tae-kwon-do players selected for camping towards the All African games are reported to be doing well in camp.
