2021/22 GPL Week 3: In-form Great Olympics beat Legon Cities 1-0 in Accra

Great Olympics on Saturday night claimed a narrow 1-0 win against Legon Cities FC to climb high on the standings of the Ghana Premier League.

The self-acclaimed Accra Landlords today played as a guest to the regional neighbor at the Accra Sports Stadium to battle for points in a game serving as a matchday 3 fixture in the recently started 2021/22 top-flight league season.

In a game where Great Olympics started on the front foot the team took advantage to score in the 20th minute through talisman Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye.

Courtesy of the team’s good defense and spirited performance in the second half in particular, the away team neutralized the home team to secure a fantastic 1-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

Following the win today, Great Olympics have climbed to second on the Ghana Premier League table and just two points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko.
