Former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan still harbours the aim and ambition of playing for Asante Kotoko saying he will be pleased to wear the Red and White jersey before he retires.

Prior to the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, the former Liberty Professionals and Al Ain forward was linked to the Porcupine Warriors but ended signing a one year deal with Legon Cities.

Gyan struggled to live up to expectations due to consistent injuries.

But according to him, he still dreams of playing for the Ghana Premier League powerhouse someday before he could call it to quit.

He stressed that it has been his dream since childhood but will now focus on getting himself fully fit and poised for games at the moment.

"Anything is possible. Asante Kotoko is my childhood club and even if I wear the jersey for just a day, I would be glad but I’ve to look at the body and my health first," he said.

"If it is Kotoko or any other club, it will be fine but the most important thing is for me to be fit and ready again to play," he added.

Asamoah Gyan is Ghana's all-time most capped player and top scorer with 109 games and 51 goals respectively.

Gyan recently helped CAF to conduct the draw of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon].
