The President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is backing the Black Sharks to seal qualification to the 2021 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Ghana team has been scheduled to face Uganda in the qualifiers to the upcoming tournament this month and will need to be at their best to triumph at the end of the two legs.

As preparations commence, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is hoping the Black Sharks will receive needed support from the Ghana FA and the government as well.

Although he tips the Uganda team as the favourites for the tie, the Ghana Beach Soccer Association president says he is optimistic the team can upset the Ugandan opponents.

“In terms of what they put in place on paper, we will say Uganda is ahead of Ghana. That's the reality.

“What we have to do now is to prove that we are more determine and within a short time, intensify training and everything that I have experience in last year we have to bring it out. We have to be at our very best to beat Uganda,” he told Akakpo Agodji of Ashh FM in an interview.

The Black Sharks of Ghana will travel to Kampala on March 26 to face Uganda in the first leg before returning home to prepare for the second leg.
