After guiding his Legon Cities FC side to defeat Elmina Sharks 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon, Coach Bashir Hayford says he hopes they can continue to pick more wins in subsequent matches.
The win on matchday 16 has given the Royals a massive boost in their fight to avoid relegation at the end of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
Speaking in a post-match interview after the Elmina Sharks game, coach Bashir Hayford has expressed his delight while commending his players for the top performance.
“I am glad the day went for us tonight. In all the departments, my boys played so well. All credit to the team. Hopefully, we will build on this for more wins,” the Legon Cities FC coach noted.
According to coach Bashir Hayford, his team is not playing at the top level yet but he is optimistic gradually they can peak as the season progresses.
“We are not even up to the level I want this team to be but gradually and with game after game, you can see the improvement and we are happy about that. We will hit our peak soon,” the experienced coach said.
With 16 matches played, Legon Cities FC now sits 13th on the Ghana Premier League table having amassed 19 points.
