Despite significantly improving in the last few weeks, Legon Cities FC coach Bashir Hayford is not allowing himself to get carried away after noting that there is still work to be done to ensure the team peaks.
The team since the start of the 2020/2021 football season has been one of the few that have battled relegation on the back of long winless runs.
Yesterday, the team defeated Elmina Sharks 2-0 to make it five games without a defeat in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking in his post-match interview, a delighted coach Bashir Hayford says he is happy about the improvement he is seeing in his team.
"We are not even up to the level I want this team to be but gradually and with game after game, you can see the improvement and we are happy about that,” the experienced coach noted.
Coach Bashir Hayford added, “We will hit our peak soon. I am glad the day went for us tonight. In all the departments, my boys played so well. All credit to the team. Hopefully, we will build on this for more wins.”
With the win on Wednesday, Legon Cities FC have climbed out of the relegation zone of the Premier League and now occupies the 13th position.
