Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong has expressed his excitement after completing his sensational move to German Bundesliga outfit Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The player born in the Netherlands in the last couple of years has significantly improved his game and is currently counted amongst the best-talented youngsters in the world.

On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, the full-back joined Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year deal from Scottish giants Celtic.

Speaking in his first interview, Jeremie Frimpong says he is delighted and rearing to start playing for his new club to help the Germans achieve their ambition.

"Great opportunity to be able to play in one of the best leagues in Europe. I'm totally looking forward to the Bundesliga and, of course, this club in particular. Bayer 04 Leverkusen have regularly been in the Champions League and the Europa League,” the 20-year-old said as quoted on the website of Bayer Leverkusen.

Jeremie Frimpong added, “They [Bayer Leverkusen] demonstrated their ambition on the European stage last year in the two games against Glasgow Rangers. I really like the offensive, fast and technical style of play at Bayer 04 and I hope I can soon help the team."

Meanwhile, Jeremie Frimpong has been handed the number 30 jersey at his new club and could make the matchday squad for the game against RB Leipzig this weekend.
