The Agona Swedru Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service has assured Political Parties operating within the Division of high professionalism as they discharge their assigned duties before, during and after the December 7 General Elections, ACP, Mr. Samuel Yankey, Divisional Commander has announced.

According to him, the Police would continue to carry its constitutional mandate of protecting lives and properties without fear or favour.

"We always have to sacrifice our lives to ensure that our constitutional mandate of protecting lives and properties are achieved. The Divisional Command works hand in hand with our sister Security agencies to boost security in our judicial area.

"Due to our rapid policing in terms of patrols, snap checks and other measures put in place in the communities, security situation in our operational areas has generally been calm. We shall do our best to ensure that crime-related cases are reduced to the minimum level," he stated.

ACP Mr. Samuel Yankey said this at the Annual Celebration of West Africa Security Services Association (WASSA) at Agona Swedru on Friday.

The annual event was for the security personnel to take some time off to relax and socialize with one another.

The Divisional Commander called on the people to continue to provide credible information for the police to discharge their duties diligently.

"Information is one of the key factors that help the Police to provide security. I, therefore, want to encourage the citizenry to provide credible information to enhance our activities. Let me also thank Police Personnel in the Division for their hard work and cooperation as well as Nananon, Civil Society Groups and corporate bodies for their support.

"However, as you may be aware, the Police triumph on discipline, let me caution that no indisciplined act would be countenance in the service," he emphasised.

Nana Atta Kojo, Head of Woraba Community who represented Swedruhene Nana Kobina Asiedu Botwe II, noted that Nananom will continue to collaborate with the Police to ensure Peace and stability.

Present were Police Personnel from Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVSU), Court Unit and other units. Others include Chief Superintendent Mr. Seth Yirenkyi, Swedru Municipal Police Commander, Nananom from Swedruman Council of Chiefs and other Security Heads in the Agona West Municipality.
