The 10th Ghana International Trade Fair, scheduled for February 22, 2006 to March 3, 2006, will be opened by the President Mr J. A. Kufuor.

The Chief Executive of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, Ms Esther Ofori, who announced this at a meeting with exhibitors in Accra yesterday also assured them that various measures had been put in place to ensure adequate security on the fair grounds for both exhibitors and visitors to the fair.

The measures, she said, included a day-time patrol by the police and by the military during the night.

She said a stand-by generator had also been provided to forestall any power cut and boreholes drilled to provide water in case the taps did not flow.

Ms Ofori warned exhibitors to be wary of people who issued dud cheques and fake foreign currency as payment for items during fairs, saying they could be duped by such unscrupulous people.

She also warned against illegal connection of power from electric cables on the fair ground saying they could lead to fire outbreaks.

On entertainment programmes during the fair, she said TV3 would hold its Music Music programme on the fair grounds on March 6, adding that the gate fee for that day would be ¢10,000.
