Yefri (B/A) Oct.11, GNA - The people of Yefri in Nkoranza district of the Brong-Ahafo Region at the weekend realised 32 million cedis during an appeal for funds towards the construction of Police barracks in the town.

The project initiated by Okoforobour Osei Bonsu II, chief of the town, was to protect life and property.

Captain Nkrabea Effah-Darteh (Rtd), Deputy Minister of Interior and Member of Parliament for Berekum who cut the sod for work to commence on the project commended the people for their self-help spirit. He pledged five million cedis to support the project and gave the assurance that the Ministry of Interior would also provide 10 million cedis to support their efforts.
