Begoro: Forget About the Rumour, There is no Strange Spirit Hunting Us - Chief, Residents

News circulating the media has it that, a strange spirit has been hunting the people of Begoro in the Fanteakwa North District of Eastern Region which has forced residents to retire to bed earlier than before.

According to the report the strange spirit operates from 10:00 pm to 1:00 am.

It alleges the spirit compels a victim it meets to suck her breast and in the process kills the person.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview held by Starr Tv's correspondent, Obiba Nana Adjei with the Apagyahene of Begoro Nana Ofori Amoyaw II, there is no iota of truth in the trending news which has installed panic in some people, and it should be treated as contempt.

He said it is a rumour, a wicked person circulated in the community which some media houses reported without proper investigation.

Nana Ofori Amoyaw II said, it has been a doing of some wicked people who do not want development of the town (Begoro), therefore whenever the community is going to celebrate it mega festival (Ahwie), these people tag it with false accusations which have no bases.

"My questing is, they claim whoever meets the spirit dies instantly, so who met it and refused to die before coming out to inform the community? It is total lies, having no bases. Even our "Akrum River" would never permit such a spirit to operate in our town to take lives, it protects us.

"There is peace in Begoro. Forget about the false accusation, Fanteakwa is commemorating Odwira (Ahwie) Festival bigger this year (2018), scheduled October 4 to October 28, come and enjoy and experience the good things in Fantastic Fanteakwa which tops touring sites in the whole of Eastern Region". Nana Ofori Amoyaw II said.

Some residents who spoke to the correspondent too debunked the rumour saying there is nothing in the town like strange spirit which some tag "Anufu tablaba" which literally means "big boobs" hunting their lives and businesses.

"It's just a hearsay, there is no spirit in Begoro hunting anybody, I stay afar and close from work late but I've never even set my eyes on any spirit, not even a ghost," a resident told Obiba.
