Chairmen Of Eleven Constituencies In Kumasi Endorses Chairman Wontumi

Eleven constituencies in the Kumasi Metropolis in of Ashanti region have massively endorsed the re-election of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘’Chairman Wontumi’’.

The constituency chairmen who spoke with Otecnews on the sidelines of a three-day tour by of the various constituencies by Chairman Wontumi said, the party stands a greater chance of benefiting immensely from chairman Wotumi's vast experience as the regional leader.

They recounted how Chairman Wontumi played a pivotal role as a field marshal in the run up to the 2016 general elections.

“We need a unifier and someone who is tried and tested. We are in full support of the aspirant because of his affability and dynamism’’ one of the Constituency Chairmen disclosed.

They intimated that the massive endorsement by the various constituency chairmen is the true reflection of the voices of the grassroots.

According to the eleven constituency chairmen, their overwhelming endorsement of the re-election bid of Wontumi, was not done for personal reasons or material gains, but was based on the general feeling of the masses across the region.

Addressing delegates on Thursday to climax his 3-day tour of the Ashanti region, Chairman Wontumi said he deeply loves the NPP and will always strive for victory in any electoral contest.

Chairman Wontumi stated that his genuine love for the party is the reason he has not been moved by the seeming distraction of some elements within the party.

He therefore expressed his readiness to lead the party in the Ashanti region to go beyond the usual 8-year tenure.

Chairman Wontumi appealed to the delegates to retain him as the NPP Regional chairman to ensure the party does not get defeated in the 2020 elections.
