The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North, Anthony Mensah has inaugurated a Fifteen-Member Board for the Kenyasi Water and Sanitation Management Team in Kenyasi with a call on them to restructure and demonstrate commitment and professionalism in the discharge of their duties to achieve government’s agenda of providing portable water for all.

He observed the selection of the members from diverse background is a demonstration of the assembly’s commitment to tap all talents for the areas development and appealed to them to bring their experience to bear in the discharge of their duties to turn the fortunes of the organization round.

He assured of the assembly’s readiness to support them and urged the Board to guide the management and staff to improve on water delivery services across the district.

Hon. Mensah hinted that the successful implementation of the Kenyasi Water System will pave way for its replication to others areas and zones in the district and urged them to work in unity with all stakeholders to achieve their goals.

The Fifteen-Member Board of Directors has Mr Nimo Ampong as the Chairman with representatives from the assembly, youth groups, women’s groups, traditional authorities and the system manager as the secretary.

The DCE advised the board to tap into the experience of the old staff to positively to enhance the prospects of quality water delivery of the area and appealed to residents to change their attitude towards public goods by paying the requisite fees for its use.

The New Board Chairman, Mr Nimo Ampong, on his part, expressed their gratitude for the honour done them to serve and pledged their preparedness to cooperate with management and staff to achieve their target.

The out-gone Chairman, Mr J. B. Danquah after the symbolic handing over of the files, appealed to the new team to rise to the challenge to confront said the numerous challenges facing the company.

He mentioned lack of motivation, poor data and record keeping, unwillingness to pay bills and erratic power supply to the plants as major problems confronting the company.

The DCE led the members to swear the official oath of Allegiance, Secrecy and Office.
