Muslims should co-exist peacefully with others

Tema, 27 June GNA - Sheik Mustapha Haruna Seise, Chief Imam for Ashaiman, has urged Muslims to live peacefully with their neighbours.

He said this on Monday during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations held at the Mandela Park, Ashaiman.

He said Eid-Ul-Fitre served as opportunity for Muslims to get closer to Allah adding that it also 'brought all Muslims together to foster peace amongst them and further inculcate the attitude of discipline in the youth.'

The Chief Imam advised Ghanaian leaders to diligently serve the people urged the the population to listen and respect their leaders.

'I would urge the youth to be careful with their speech as it could lead them into trouble' he advised.

Sheik Seise thanked the National Chief Imam Dr. Sheik Nuhu Sharubutu for his exemplary leadership saying, 'It was as a result of your leadership that has led to a peaceful Eid-Ul-Fitr'

Hundreds of Muslims and dignitaries gathered at the Mandela Park to observe the celebrations.

Amongst them were Ernest Nogbe, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashaiman, Albert Okyere, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA), as well as Imams and chiefs.
