Gang of rapists attack New Edubiase Secondary school

New Edubiase, (Ash), April 27, GNA- Some final year female students of the New Edubiase Secondary School, sustained various degrees of injuries when they jumped from the first floor of the one storey dormitory building to escape from a three armed gang who attempted to rape them on last Saturday night.

The gang who were students of the school and armed with guns, knives and sticks, stormed the dormitory block and ordered one female student to strip naked.

This alarmed her colleagues who removed louver blades and started jumping down.

The panic-stricken girls shouted for help, compelling some tutors to rush to the scene and managed to arrest two of the gangs and handed them over to the Police.

Those arrested were Justice Owusu, alias "escape" a dismissed final year student of the school and Bismarck Oduro, alias "Bobiaso", a first year student.

The third suspect, on the run was identified as Sabato, the son of a tutor of the school.

Mr Kwame Toku Appiah, the Headmaster, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the girls who sustained injuries were rushed to the New Edubiase Government Hospital.

He said Owusu, was dismissed from the school last term due to drug abuse.

Mr Toku Appiah commended the tutors for their timely intervention. The New Edubiase police confirmed the story to the GNA and said those who had been arrested would be put before court on Thursday. The source said the police had mounted an intensive search to arrest the third suspect.
