Emmanuel Otabil, 20 years old and Bismark Oppong alias Ascona, 24, are currently in the custody of the Akyem-Amanfrom police in the Eastern Region for allegedly attempting to kill a taxi driver and snatch his vehicle.
Charles Darko, the driver of Mazda Damo taxi with registration number GC 2131, was said to have been nearly stabbed to death by the two suspects who had hired his services earlier.
According to him, the timely intervention of an unidentified man rescued him from the hands of the suspected robbers.
DAILY GUIDE learnt that following police interrogation the suspects had earlier confessed their initial intention to steal the car as they had an accomplice in the Brong-Ahafo Region who would spray the vehicle and sell it.
Meanwhile, the police have instituted an investigation into the matter.
