Accra Dec. 8, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged Ghanaians to remain vigilant and calm as the nation goes through the waiting period for the results of December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

It also called on polling agents to verify and ensure that the correct results are reported by their polling stations and constituency collation centres.

'Together, we have come this far. Vigilance is key for change. Together, we will bring change to Ghana,' a statement signed by Mr John Boadi, the Acting General Secretary of the Party, and copied to the GNA, in Accra, said.

The General Secretary commended the people of Ghana for voting in a peaceful and orderly manner, saying, 'The people have turned out en masse and demonstrated to the world that Ghana wants change.'

However, the NPP noted that there were certain incidents at some polling stations.

The Party thanked all volunteers, polling agents and supporters for their help thus far.

'A few more hours is a small sacrifice to make sure we don't have four more years of mismanagement, incompetence and corruption of the Mahama led NDC government,' the Party stated.
