Tema, Oct. 14, GNA -The Tema District Magistrate Court, has imposed a fine of 500,000 cedis on one Augustine Ofori for assaulting and spitting on the face of a woman.
Augustine was convicted on his own plea for offensive conduct and was bonded to be of good behaviour for two years or in default serve six months imprisonment.
The Court ordered that 200,000 cedis of the fine, should be given to the complainant as compensation.
Police Sergeant Phillip Beboi, told the Court presided over by Nana Agyeman Badu that on August 13 this year, the accused became offended when he saw the complainant playing his drum and attacked her. He said Augustine's offensive behaviour was reported to the police leading to his arrest.
