Man Shops For Human Parts

A man, who is believed to be in his late 30s, is in the grips of the Sekondi police for allegedly attempting to acquire human parts from a mortuary man in exchange for money.

Confirming the story, the mortuary man, Christopher Dadzie, indicated that at about 10:15 am last Friday, the suspect, whose name was not immediately known, approached him at the Effia-Nkwanta hospital morgue wearing a yellow Lacoste, branded with the symbol of a popular radio station in Sekondi.

Christopher Dadzie revealed that the suspect requested for the hair of a corpse and water that had been used to bath a corpse in exchange for any amount of money that he (the mortuary man) would request.

He indicated that he was very surprised, but feigned interest and alerted the mortuary supervisor who arrested the suspect and handed him over to the Sekondi police.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that the suspect admitted the offence in his caution statement to the police but claimed that it was a spiritualist whom he mentioned only as Alhaji, that sent him to go and purchase the items.

Meanwhile, efforts by the paper to reach the Sekondi police commander for verification of the suspect's arrest proved futile as he did not pick calls from this reporter.
