Elder Noah To Contest For The NPP In The Shai-Osudoku Constituency In The 2016 Parliamentary Elections
08.12.2014 LISTEN

Fellow Dodowerians, the good people in Shai-Osudoku district I present to you the man the people wants in Shai-Osudoku popularly known as elder Noah as your MP for 2016 parliamentary elections. Ooh come on guys; stand up for your right, from Michael AfediGizo to David Assumeng it was all about the NDC in the Shai-Osudoku Constituency. Who says change is not good for mankind? So what is next and who mount a strong challenge in the constituency to change the face of parliamentary elections in the constituency? So as I walk through the principal streets of shai-Osudoku lamenting about the challenges confronting the people and who will lead the people there I was told of a Pentecost elder who want to take the challenge in 2016.

From Osuwem to Kordiebe, Doryumu, Ayikuma, Matetse, Dodowa and all the surroundings the people have started calling for a change in the Shai-Land and although groups calling themselves concerned citizens of Dodowa-Shai practically have failed the people of the Shai-land to tackle relevant issues confronting the people.

In 1996, Michael Afedi Gizo won the elections with 14,814, Kwame Tetteh Korley had, 2319 for the NPP. In 2000, Mike won again this time with 10,562 losing about 4,000 members to Eric Abraham Nartey of the NRP who made a huge mark with 4844 as against the NPP candidate Adjowerh Nartey, 4439.

In 2004, the incumbent David TettehAssumeng of the NDC won with 13,510 and the NPP with their arsenal woman Gloria Akuffo managed 7,386 unfortunately she didn't appear again because of the disappointments she suffered from the people but I see no reason why she didn't come back because you don't expect the people to give you the go ahead just for the first time like that and this game is like running a business Gloria missed the chance to take the seat for the NPP in 2008 if she contested.

Now it is over for her because the people are saying they will not vote for her again even if she suffices because they believe she has an agenda. In 2008, Assumeng won again with 14,725, Dungan of the NPP had=5565 and then Emmanuel MarteyTetteh had 1876 for the CPP.

In 2012 ,David ooh oh David was there again with a whopping 18,089, Dungan for the NPP had 5,565 and look at this Emmanuel Martey who left the CPP for the PPP had 5,069. Form this analysis it is still clear the people still want change but who to give the baton to is their problem so eventually they always decides to vote for the NDC candidate but it is going to be a different ball game altogether in 2016 because of the hearings on the ground and in fact there are more scholars in the Shai-Osudoku land now than before.

I know probably many people will not be very happy with this column especially those in the Shai-Osudoku Constituency who are hard core NDC activist. When I heard about elder Noah's intentions of contesting NPP parliamentary candidacy for 2016 elections one thing just came into my mind because the Shai-Osudoku Constituency is a known strong hold of the NDC so I was wondering and a little bit disturb and I ask myself a question. Can an elder enter into politics?

The Shai-Osudoku Constituency is an area that the people themselves believe that even when a goat is a made the NDC parliamentary candidate the goat will win and it goes on like that but I see that statements as a real insult to the good people of Shai-Osudoku. For me Elder Noah's decision is a good one that I support because it is time good Christians should go into politics to change the face of doing things.

The key point for me is to realize that we are involved anyway; we have no choice about being political because if we choose not to engage then it is a vote for the status quo – the way things are. All Christians are also political, whether they realize it or not but especially when they don't realize it.

Christians need to be involved because we believe in a God who cares passionately about his world and his creation, and consequently how it is run. The Bible is hugely political – in that it is about how God wants people to behave and act towards him, and towards each other. This involves economics and law because these are tools that need to be used to build justice. So often it is injustice which dominates God's world and this grieves him.

So as I walk to and fro in the constituency I heard the voice of Job and then drew my attention.

In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. 2.He had seven sons and three daughters, 3and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.

4. His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5When a period of feasting had run its course; Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job's regular custom.

6. One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan also came with them. 7. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”

8Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”

9“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10“Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

12.The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”

So I urge you all brethren not to lay a finger on elder Renner AwateyKwesiNoah because he is bringing something new to the Shai-Osudoku constituency in 2016 . I am not a prophet but I can see a huge contested game in 2016 in the Shai-Osudoku parliamentary because of the background and where elder Noah is coming from. For many years the NPP parliamentary aspirant are always coming from outside but the people have decided to choose their own son this time around and no wonder but a strong force know in the Shai-Osudoku area and i know the NDC parliamentary aspirant will start to shark, panic and fear . This is something I have being praying for in the Shai-Osodukou constituency a competition among our leaders the era of stronghold should be a thing of the past in the dangme land. We must look for people to deliver and I was happy when T.D Jakes said it all for who should be leader.

According to the story, The Renowned American preacher, Bishop T.D Jakes has called for a team of thinking and vibrant leaders to inspire the much needed transformation the country expects.

According to him, Ghana needs innovative and resourceful leaders with ideas to transform the country and not leaders who act in their own interests.

Addressing a breakfast meeting of corporate leaders put together by the Action Chapel International, Bishop Jakes charged Ghanaians to do away with mediocrity.

He said in order for the country to develop, it will need a group of leaders who can think of new ideas and are “assets and not liabilities.”- See more at: http://www.myjoyonline.com/news/2014/December-5th/td-jakes-calls-for-thinking-vibrant-leaders-to-transform-economy.php#sthash.r1Fz2WdN.dpuf

But anyway it wasn't that elder Noah was the MC for me during my book launch “Catalyst for Change in the DangmeLand” that has made Elder Noah a household name in Dodowa and the dangme land right now. Anyway I have heard a lot about the elder Noah and about the young elder at the fore front of the Pentecost church in Dodowabut in real fact when I came in contact with him during my book launch ooh boy!

I was very surprise we have such a young talented elder in the dangme land that has integrity with the love for his people so no wonder I has decided to go into politics. Before my speech elder Noah pops up with his skills of a good M.C.

Elder Noah has paid his dues and services for the good people in Shai-Osudoku and since it was the first time that I had encounter with him I will say he had scored a hat trick in Shai-Osudoku. You can easily understand why he is currently, the people choice for 2016.

All those who had mocked that no other party is capable of winning the parliamentary election in Shai-Osudoku on the ticket of the NPP after hearing this news are now shaking!

I turned their jokes against them. Amen!
Now, that elder Noah has shown what can be got out of the Shai-Osudoku if they are given the chance, the NDC leaders will be rolling back their criticism in the Shai-Osudoku: a new King in town always enjoys the attentions of the mob, even if they had booed him before he mounted the throne! It is all very delightful, and elder Noah is savoring it.

Renner AwateyKwesi Noah – that is his full name – was born to dangme parents and he is a native of Shai.

Very often, NPP search for greatness turns out to be an unfulfilled dream. People think first of their pockets, instead of their communities glory in the Shai-Osudiku and they call it an orphan constituency.

Nevertheless, the NPP in the Shai-Osudoku constituency genes will shine through, and whether elder Noah geniuses with dangme blood are allowed by circumstances to play in our traditional colours or not, everyone will know their connection to NPP in Shai –Osoduku .Just come to Dodowa and look for Elder Noah.

It's not his fault that he couldn't come out but it is the environment where he finds himself. It's the fault of our own lack of imagination, and probably, our corruption and selfishness among our leaders. For elder Noah I say Go for gold! The People need you in the Shai-Osudoku land.
