Ghana midfielder Bernard Yao Kumordzi suffered a serious injury during Genk's 2-1 win at Mouscron-Peruwelz last Saturday.
The 29-year-old suffered a tibia fracture after a savage attack from Frenchman Steven Langil at the Stade Le Canonnier.
Kumordzi had to be stretchered off the pitch and helped home by the club's trainers.
He was replaced by Khaleem Hyland in 66th minute.
Kumordzi has played six matches for Genk this season and highly fancied by head coach Alex McLeish.
