Prampram, Feb. 20, GNA --- The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NIPDA) has acquired a 40-acre land at Prampram for the construction of offices and staff accommodation.

Mr Richson Nii Appernarh, District Chief Executive for NIPDA disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday during a groundbreaking ceremony to build a one-story office accommodation.

Mr Appernarh said the assembly which was inaugurated in 2012, lacked adequate office accommodation which was hindering its smooth administration.

He added that the lack of staff accommodation was also a problem for the assembly as majority of the staff had to travel from far to Prampram daily to work.

He further indicated that the 40-acre land acquired by his outfit would be the permanent site for NIPDA and would house all the departments under the assembly.

The DCE noted that the GHc138,425 office project was the immediate measure to solve the office accommodation problem, adding that the assembly was spending much money on renting houses for use as offices.

Mr Appernarh added that the project which had been awarded to Kem and Ward Contractors, when completed in four months time would have 14 office rooms with their accompanying washrooms.

He used the occasion to advise developers operating in the district to follow the due process in acquiring permits before putting up structures in order to avoid breaking the law.
