Abura DCE wins primaries

Abura Edumfa (C/R), Nov. 8, GNA - Mr Andrew Mensah, District Chief Executive for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, was on Friday elected parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency for 2004 election, at the primaries held at Edumfa.

He polled 64 votes out of the 109 votes cast.

Mr Maxwell Baidoo, Presiding Member of the District Assembly had 42 votes while Mr Job Markin had three votes.

Two other contestants Mr Peter Yeboah and Mr Amos Yemoah had no votes cast for them.

Mr mensah thanked the delegates for the honour done him and appealed to members of the party to throw their weight behind him to win the seat.
