A communication team member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kakra Essamuah has hinted he will support any coup d'état in the country if Nana Akufo-Addo, presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is declared president by a court of competent jurisdiction.
According to him, no presidential candidate in Ghana's history has used just two regions to win an election therefore any attempt by the NPP to ensure the candidate emerge winner of Friday's elections will be resisted.
Kakra Essamuah was reacting to the NPP's challenge of the election results on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Monday.
The opposition party has indicated that it is compiling evidence of their claims nationwide and will go to court for redress.
The party's Council of Elders will meet Tuesday to decide whether to go to court or concede defeat in the December polls.
But lawyer Essamuah maintained that the NPP will lose miserably if they proceed to court on a case that has been decided by the Electoral Commission.
He noted that the NPP and its appendages should not elude themselves into thinking that “their agents in the law courts will help them” because government will not allow them [NPP members] to perpetrate lawlessness in the country.
“If anybody with two regions wants to be president of this country; I, from the Central region, will support a coup,” he added.
Lawyer Essamuah said anybody who has become president in Ghana wins at least five regions and thus Nana Addo cannot claim to have won the election with only two regions.
He intimated that in an unlikely event that the NPP wins the court case; the NDC majority in Parliament will make the country 'ungovernable' for Akufo-Addo.
The NDC man observed that the conduct of the NPP and its presidential candidate betrays their commitment to the peace declaration in Kumasi.
Lawyer Essamuah admonished the NPP to respect the decision of the people for peace to prevail.

If we don't stand our feet some of these stupid guys would would spoil the nation. Gracious God! kakra has made the most reckless comment ever.
