GFA to announce dismissal of Black Stars coach today

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to officially make public their decision to fire Black Stars coach, Goran Stevanovic, today, highly placed sources within the FA have told Citifmonline.com .

Citifmonline.com first broke the news of the Serbian's dismissal on February 23, 2012 when the GFA had earlier told the media they need a two-week grace period to study Stevanovic's report on the Nations Cup in order to decide his fate.

Reliable sources had told Citifmonline.com then that the period was being used by the FA to sort out the financial obligations owed the 45-year-old.

After having met the national team coach for the third time last week Friday, the Ghana FA issued a statement saying the meeting has been deferred to today, subsequent to which the future of the coach will be made public.

However, Citifmonline.com is reliably informed the decision to sack Plavi was arrived at immediately after Ghana's fourth-place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

According to our sources, last Friday's meeting was moved to today because Stevanovic was bent on being paid his whopping compensation outright, which runs in the region of 72,000 to 100,000 euros.

He was spotted in the company of sacked Hearts of Oak coach Nebojsa Vucicevic, another Serbian, on Friday night.
