
Hohoe, Oct 19, GNA – Issah Zibrilla, a 27-year-old Fulani herdsman, has been remanded into prison custody by a circuit court in Hohoe on the provisional charge of murdering Tason Mapoe, a farmer for possessing fire arm without authority.
The plea of Zibrilla was not taken and the docket on the case would be sent to the Attorney-General's Department for advice. The suspect would reappear at court on October 24, this year.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Benjamin Dadzie, told the court that Zibrilla shot and killed Mapoe at Kagyasekope near Tokuroanu in the Krachi East District of the Volta Region.
The prosecution said the suspect in the company Ashietu Jamponi and Muntaro Musah reported to the police that Mapoe allegedltly attacked him (suspect) with a cutlass and he (suspect) was issued with form to seek medical attention.
ASP Dadzie said the suspect was arrested by a group of young men and handed over to the police at Tokuroanu for allegedly killing Mapoe.
The prosecution told the court that when the police visited the scene of the crime, they found the decomposing body of the deceased body and said Zibrilla admitted that he shot and killed the deceased.
