Nana Addo wishes Muslims Barka Da Sallah
01.09.2011 LISTEN

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has on behalf of the NPP and on his own behalf, congratulated Muslims in the nation and the world over on the successful completion of the Ramadan and on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.

“It is the hope of the NPP that the one month of spiritual engagement and intercessory prayer would spur us on to higher heights of achievement and economic and political fulfillment. I send you best wishes and by extension all Muslims across the world as you celebrate the annual Eid-ul-Fitr festival,” Nana Addo said in a released he signed.

“As a people of Abrahamic faiths, both Christians and Muslims share a common bond of devotion and commitment to God. We have a deep respect for your commitment to the ideals of God and His word. The Eid al-Fitr celebration commemorates the end of Ramadan, a period of intense devotion and reflection – a time when Muslims fast during the day and perform prayers at night, reciting and listening to the entire Qur'an over the course of the month. I am confident that this intense period of devotion has inspired in you a commitment not only to God but also to country,” the release noted.

It added: “We believe that the intense flow of barakat (divine grace) that this one month of spiritual exercise has engendered will trigger a respect for neighbour and country that will enable us all as God's servants to join hands in the difficult task of nation building. I urge you to continue to demonstrate continually a sense of unity and oneness in the years ahead.

Once again, I am privileged to join many other Ghanaians in wishing you all a happy Eid al-Fitr celebration.”
