UBI Petroleum Company has opened a new outlet at Asafo in Kumasi, touted as the most modern in Ghana, with the Marketing representative for the Ashanti and Northern sectors, Ganyiu promising that the Adum branch would soon be operational.

The Asafo branch, he said, would offer good value for money with regards to fuel quality.

UBI is a local company with a global outlook whose business model is focused on delivering different kinds of petroleum products of the highest international standard to local communities.

In a speech read on behalf of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Asantehene by the Akyeampihene, Oheneba Adusei-Poku, the King expressed delight that such an ultra-modern facility had been erected in the Garden City.

'As we strive to encourage investors to do more in the Ashanti Kingdom, the people of Ashanti welcome this establishment with joy. We believe that the presence of UBI will create much employment opportunity in the Ashanti Region.'

He charged those who would be employed by the company to work hard in order for the company to open more branches in the region.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu, he said, is committed to providing sites that are available for the establishment of such ultramodern facilities. He congratulated Selma Okonkwo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) UBI Petroleum for being as he put it the vision bearer of this magnificent achievement.

On her part, Mrs. Selma Okonko expressed gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu for accepting and approving the establishment of one of the best petroleum facilities in the Ashanti region.

'My sincere appreciation also goes to the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the Ghana Standard Board (GSB) for inspecting and certifying our equipment, especially our ultra modern fuel pumps,' adding that 'what influenced UBI's decision to extend our premium service to Asafo, Kumasi is the fact that the Ashanti region is one of the best regions in Ghana that patronize brands that provide efficient and quality products and services such as ours.'

The new station at Asafo, she said, is not only the best in the region but the African continent as a whole.

According to her, 'What makes our services unique is that our pumps that provide our customers with the exact amount of fuel that they buy without any manipulation.'

Another technology that sets UBI apart from others is the use of fiber optic tanks that are planted in the ground to store petrol and diesel.

These tanks, she said, are made of fibre glass that prevents leakage that might cause pollution to the land unlike the steel tanks.

She appealed to the Otumfuo to continue to provide UBI with more lands in strategic locations for the erection of more pumping facilities.
