Nyinahin (Ash), July 17, GNA - A 22-year-old unemployed Kwadwo Bisawodee alias Obutu, was on Friday remanded by a Nyinahin Magistrate Court charged with indecent assault, unlawful entry and threat of death.

He pleaded not guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Isaac Asherow told the court presided over by Mr Augustine Essah that the complainant Anthony Kwadwo Kusasi is a farmer at Bakowiaba near Nyinahin, while the accused is unemployed and lives in the same village.

He said for sometime now Bisawodee had been making advances towards his wife Kusasi.

Chief Inspector Asherow said on July 7, 2009, at about 2245 hours, the accused sneaked into the room where the couple were sleeping and attempted to rape the woman.

He said the woman shouted and raised an alarm, which attracted the attention of some neighbours. He said Bisawodee, however, succeeded in running away.

The Chief Inspector said the next day, Bisawodee armed himself with a cutlass and went to the house of the couple and threatened to kill them.

A report was therefore made to the police and he was arrested.
